Anaheim Vacations

Anaheim, California, is best known as home to the Happiest Place on Earth—Disneyland. More than 40 million visitors a year travel to Anaheim, many of them making the pilgrimage to Disneyland Park, Disney’s California Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney District.

While Mickey Mouse is an exciting draw, a vacation in Anaheim can include many more diversions. It’s centrally located in Orange County, or “the O.C.,” the Southern California playground that’s 30 miles south of Los Angeles and 90 miles north of San Diego. The county boasts 42 miles of coastline and perfect weather to go along with it. Knott’s Berry Farm, America’s first theme park, is another popular family attraction. An Anaheim vacation could also include upscale shopping at South Coast Plaza, the highest-grossing shopping center in the world; a step back in time at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, a National Historic Treasure built by Spanish missionaries in the 18th century; a major-league baseball game at the Los Angeles Angels’ Angel Stadium; an educational stop at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum; and an inspirational visit to the Crystal Cathedral, with 10,000 panes of glass covering its translucent walls and ceiling.

The average temperature in Anaheim is a sunny 75°F. Four airports serve the area: John Wayne Orange County Airport (20 minutes from Anaheim), Los Angeles International Airport (50 minutes from Anaheim), Ontario International Airport (45 minutes from Anaheim) and Long Beach Airport (30 minutes from Anaheim).
