Cabo San Lucas Vacations

At the tip of the Baja California peninsula, Cabo San Lucas is one of Mexico’s best-known tourism destinations. Perfectly positioned where the Pacific Ocean meets the warm waters of the Sea of Cortes, Cabo offers world-renowned fishing, beautiful beaches, luxurious resorts and attractions that lure celebrities, VIPs, and travelers from near and far looking to get away from it all.

The town of Cabo boasts a lively downtown with bars, restaurants and shops. The destination’s diversions, however, extend up the 20-mile tourism corridor that connects Cabo San Lucas to the Spanish colonial town of San Jose del Cabo. In between the two towns are a host of exclusive resorts with pampering spas, championship golf courses and top-notch restaurants, ideal for a Cabo San Lucas luxury vacation. A Cabo vacation should include a water taxi ride to El Arco, or the Arch at Land’s End, a dramatic rock formation that’s the symbol of Cabo. Behind the arch, Lover’s Beach is a secluded spot that’s a favorite of honeymooners. A prime sportsfishing destination, Cabo hosts the largest marlin-fishing tournament in the world. It’s also where gray whales go during the winter to birth their calves.

A two-hour flight from San Diego, Los Cabos International Airport offers service to many U.S. cities. U.S. visitors to Mexico must present a valid passport and fill out an immigration form. The immigration officer may also request that you demonstrate you have sufficient funds and a return ticket to the U.S. Average high temperatures in Cabo range from the 70s in the winter to the 90s in the summer. Currency is the Mexican Peso, although U.S. dollars are accepted most places.
