This Years Friend’s and Family Cruise- 2008

In March 2008, I was lucky enough to sail on Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas with 22 of my closest friends. This was the 2nd year that I had arranged a group gathering and I must say that this year’s cruise was even bigger and better than our first group cruise.

5 out of the 22 in my group had never cruised before and it is always exciting for me being there to see the expression on their face when they see how huge the ship is that is waiting for them to board!!

Royal Caribbean is my favorite cruise line so far. The ships are just beautiful, with so much to see and do and the ride is as smooth as riding in a Cadillac.

The week passed very quickly, we visited Labadee, Haiti where some took the Zip Line excursion and zipped over the tree tops and down to the beach with a harness strapped around them and hooked to a guide wire. We also visited Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Cayman Islands where some snorkelled and others visited the Turtle Farm; and then to Cozumel, Mexico where some visited Carlos and Charlie’s, while others visited the Myan Ruins.

The group has already said they can’t wait until 2010! The 2010 cruise will be on the Carnival Liberty, sailing the Eastern Caribbean with ports of call in San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, USVI and St. Maarten. We will leave the cold Northeast on Friday March 5th with an overnight pre-cruise stay in beautiful Fort Lauderdale before being shuttled to our ship in Miami on March 6th.

I find that there is no vacation more relaxing and rejuvenating than a cruise, and there is no better way to cruise than with a few hundred of your closest friends.
