It's Nice To Meet You

Greetings! I'm Melanie, a seasoned traveler with over 25 years of experience in the travel industry. Throughout my career, I've worked as a retail travel Branch Manager and even served as a holiday Rep in beautiful destinations like the Costa del Sol, Greece, and Turkey. My wanderlust has taken me to various corners of the world, including Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and England.

But beyond my passion for travel, I'm a country girl at heart. I reside on a farm in Lincolnshire with my partner, and together, we share a love for adventure, whether it's exploring our backyard or venturing abroad. Currently, Scotland tops my bucket list, as I'm a huge Outlander fan. And let's not forget about Dollywood! It's another dream destination for me, mainly because I adore Dolly Parton and her fabulous wigs.

Becoming a Travel Counsellor was a natural choice for me. Bodmin Adventure

02 May 2023

Wow, What an adventure we had let me tell you all about it. We wanted a April break and had never been to Bodmin so we booked a Beautiful Bungalow in Cardinham ,Bodmin called Woodhall Bunny Hills (Not just a name the little Furbys were everywhere .) The property was immaculate with the most stunning views I have ever seen, made even more beautiful from every angle when the sunset of pinks and golds just perfect. Obviously, the hot tub was a big feature in the evenings to relax and rest our feet after a day of adventures. Let me tell you so much to do I could go on for hours but let me give you the highlights, my other half experienced his first flying lesson at Bodmin Airfield he got to fly the plane over Cornwall and tick off his bucket list and now eager to start lessons lol. A 12-minute drive took us too Cardinham woods café, which was spectacular, the on too Goliath Falls a secret wood land water fall a little trek but amazing when you got there, all the while traveling through Bodmin moors for our adventures did you know The name Bodmin is generally interpreted as “dwelling of or by the sanctuary of monks” from the Cornish “Bod-meneghy”. Bodmin Jail and the Jamaica Inn just stunning and steeped in so much history I got lost in it and absolutely need to watch the films now. Wookey Hole is didn't disappoint with its, caves and mystery along with all the quaint villages you drive through giving you a different and more breath-taking side away from the normal beaches, our final adventures took us too, Land’s End headland western Cornwall, on the Penwith peninsula about eight miles west-south-west of Penzance at the western end of the A30 road. To the east of it is the English Channel, and to the west the Celtic Sea. Stunning and of course blasted the gift shop. We finished our trip in Worcester at the Bank House Hotel Spa & Golf Club and we spoilt our feet and our tummies with delicious food, amazing adventures and I would highly recommend both accommodations and the attractions,

Egyptian Adventures

17 February 2023

Wow what a fantastic trip to Marsa Alam & Hurghada in Egypt, how do I start, from stepping off the plane and feeling that special holiday air to arriving at the hotels, Breath-taking my eyes never stopped darting around at all the different things on both transfers. All the hotels have this magical grandness that I can only describe as “1001 Nights” fyi though everything is marble, ensure you don’t have slippy shoes lol. The food variety was great fresh lots of fish and lamb and 10 million salad varieties it was divine. Mint tea is a must it’s a taste sensation along with the coffee a little like Turkish coffee but not as bitty. We stayed at the Blue Lagoon in Marsa Alam and Siva Grand in Hurghada both had so much variety and activities that suit any ones needs and plenty to do for children as well. We did several boat tours to fulfill my mermaid wish to jump off a boat and “nailed it”, we swam with the fish and saw dolphins. The best experience we had was snorkeling with the “DUNGONG” in the Red Sea these creatures are so adorable and friendly. So if you want Egypt but not the Valley of the kings or mummy's then these two are amazing

Istanbul Magic

11 April 2023

Istanbul is a magical composition of two continents. And especially the Bosphorus, Istanbul Strait will cheer up your hearts. Aside from being the largest and most famous city of Turkey, Istanbul is also the biggest cultural and financial center of Turkey. Istanbul is considered the bridge linking Asia with Europe from a cultural and geographical standpoint. Istanbul is located partly in Asia and the other part in Europe. Its geographical position and rich history are responsible for a fascinating melting pot of cultures. Tourists are flocking to experience this magical city full of contrasts for themselves, making it the 5th most popular tourist destination in the world. It's an absolutely magical destination steeped in culture and history, I highly recommend the Sultanahmet old quarters area, we stayed at the Sultania a unique luxury hotel situated in the famous Sultanahmet district of Istanbul, within easy walking distance from most of the major sights the city has to offer; including the striking Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, and the magical Grand Bazaar. My top things to do or see I RECOMMEND booking a table at the Olive rooftop restaurant and sampling some exquisite dishes prepared by the chef to the stars, Byron Ayanoglu. Golden Horn and Bosphoros cruise The Sufi Dance is a transcendental performance by Sufi Dervishes also known as Whirling Dervish Egyptian Spice Bazaar Blue Mosque

Melanie Lycett has been fantastic. She was able to find flights and holidays that nobody else came close to. She listened to what we wanted from our holiday and tailored it to our specific needs, including flight times, hotel rating and location. I would not hesitate to recommend,

This is the first time that we have used a full-service travel company and we were more than satisfied with the way that Melanie helped us plan our holiday. She really took the time the understand our requirements and also us as a family to make sure she found just the right holiday for us. Nothing was too much for her (even when I kept tweaking things) and we will most certainly be using Melanie again. I would highly recommend her !

Melanie was incredibly helpful and very patiently answered all of my queries whilst working out our plans for a holiday that needed to include a couple of long distance stops. She took the time to get a good understanding of what we were hoping for and nothing was too much to ask. Melanie truly went above and beyond to get us to where we needed to be whilst including an amazing stop on the way. I honestly couldn't recommend Melanie highly enough, she was an absolute pleasure to work with, very knowledgeable, and provided a first-class service. Thank you ever so much for all your hard work.

Melanie was absolutely incredible. She asked so many questions to ensure she had a good brief, and then sent a variety of options to fit with what we asked. She then changed the options based on our feedback and found the perfect holiday for us. She is knowledgeable, efficient, she understood exactly what we needed as a family and I will absolutely be using her services for all future holidays. Total superstar x
